Everything is better in Texas. Our D25 Administration Manager, Glenda Curry, would fully agree. “I absolutely love Texas and cannot imagine living anywhere else.” Being born and raised in Ft. Worth and being married for over 31 years to her high school sweetheart probably have a lot to do with that.
Glenda started her Toastmasters journey in 2012. Her goal was to expand her confidence when speaking with customers, “…. but I quickly discovered that Toastmasters is far more than public speaking. I’ve benefitted tremendously from the lessons in communication, leadership, organization, and teamwork.” To say thank you for what Toastmasters has done for her, she sought a way to serve the district while being active in her home club, Alliance Networks. She is relishing the opportunity. In her words: “It’s so encouraging to interact with members that model the core values of Toastmasters – Integrity, Respect, Service, and Excellence. What a fun journey.”
When not serving Toastmasters, she works for Landmark Structures (for almost 17 years) in inside and outside sales focused on municipalities and consulting engineers. She earned her MBA and BBA in Finance from The University of Texas in Arlington.
Glenda is also a State Fair of Texas Champion, beating out 155 other contestants to win 2012 Best of Show in the Cake Contest! Not just a champ in baking, she also grows orchids and other exotic plants and is into geocaching.
We thank you, Glenda, for your willingness to serve. You will guide D25 to becoming a Champion too.
