I was born and raised in India; however, I came to Texas as fast as I could! In India, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. After marrying my husband Dan of 25 years, we settled in Texas. I have lived in 3 corners of Texas. South Texas – Port Lavaca, West Texas- Midland, and have been living in North Texas since 1998. During these times, Lord has blessed me with two handsome and wonderful sons – Neal and Jay. I received Master in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington and soon joined BNSF railway. At BNSF, I have performed many roles with varying responsibilities.
At BNSF, a co-worker invited me to a Toastmasters meeting. It took me 3 meetings to finally join and it has been a life-altering experience. Toastmasters has given me confidence, skills to articulate my message, and inspiration to be a servant leader. I have served D25 as an Area Governor, Division Governor, and Division Director. When Robi asked me to be the Hot Topics news editor, I took it as one more opportunity to serve the District and grow my skills in editing.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, cooking, music, and poetry.
